Nodding at what Professor Botros was explaining to her, she was sure she understood her part. With a gentle push towards the wall the crouched down by it - while making sure not to get ZAPPED.

Holding her wand right over the Algiz carving, she said, "Intaglio Hagalaz." Her voice was as clear and full of intent, and she kept repeating Hagalaz over and over again as she carved the Rune shape. After a little while, Lux was done carving the Rune.

Standing back again, she waited to see what would happen.

The students and the professor wait... and wait... and wait... nothing happens.

Botros chanted on and on and ooonnn with the kids until the carving was done. He waited for a moment. No smoke whatsoever. He brought his face dangeously close to the wall and sniffed loudly. Nope, nothing, nada. SNIIIIIIIFFF. "Does anyone smell anything?" SNIFF SNIFF. He was sure it was Hagalaz. Why didn't it work. He squinted his eyes at the carved rune, it looked good enough.

HMMM. Interesting.

"We'll try again. Thank you, dear." He patted the Hufflepuff kid's shoulder. "Who can do it again?" Just go ahead and carve for Merlin's sake, the willow is about to wake up.
