Botros shrugged at the Hufflepuff (Ian), "I have no idea what the Whomping Willow would do if we don't solve this coon." He gave him a fake frightened look. Maybe this would be encouraging to work with the others and solve this quicker? The boy's comment about the curse didn't go unnoticed by the professor, the man nodded at him and gave him thumbs-up.

The discussion going on between the students was interesting. Botros kept silent, allowing them to raise various hypothesis about the opposite rune they should carve. Tempus was doing a brilliant job at it, despite his apparent fading sick eye sight. He also admired the young Slytherin explaining to the short-attention-span Newell.

"Mr. Mordaunt, don't tease your classmates." He chuckled, gently asking the boy not to confuse an already-confused girl. Botros nodded to all those who tried identifying the runes, "Yes, it is almost a symmetrical curse. Those are usually hard because the similar runes share stronger bonds with each other making it a strong series. But we have here an inverted rune that broke the symmetry of the series. That's good, it weakens it." He pointed with his finger at the runes from left to right, "So we have Raidho, Othala, Algiz, Othala, inverted Raidho."

"The inverted rune does not mean it is weak." He spoke after Newell. "The inverted Raidho and the normal Raidho cancel each other out, in a sense, so we don't give either one of them our attention. Getting rid of one of those will make its opposite rune stronger. So, keeping the inverted rune and the normal, similar rune works in our advantage."

He turned to Tempus again, "I like Hagalaz more than Isa in this case." So they could decide who should carve this out. "Maybe the rest of us can chant the Galdr as one of your carve Hagalaz?" Yes? Yes!
