Cosgrach heard he was being called and it was two or three seconds before he spotted her.

And a Slytherin made a mistake. Tut tut. At least it wasn't too hard to fix.

"Retract it with your metal spoon, then mix it upside-down for a minute or so, until you feel it's thoroughly mixed," he said. Did she get what she should do? She was going to draw a circle with her spoon in the potion vertically. "And hope the ignition works well." It SHOULD, but it also depended how well she was going to mix it.

One time I accidentally put a cup of cinnamon into the coffee cake instead of a tablespoon." She was babbling now. Time to focus. What had she done exactly?

"Um, maybe I did the water thing wrong? I watched everyone else, and tried to copy them?" Or maybe it had been the cauldron? "Also I didn't know how to clean my cauldron, but I didn't think it mattered because I just bought it, so it was clean already, right?" Gwen wrung her hands together, waiting for the response. Could it be saved? Or had she just wasted valuable resources?

The boy wanted to help her so he beat Cosgrach to explaining, and Cosgrach nodded approvingly. He preferred peer interaction in classes when it came to teaching something other than the class, because students generally learnt better that way, so he stepped back and watched the exchange.

"Five points to Slytherin." Because he was generous enough to share his notes too, and advised her to be clean. Good.

Also. "Professor? I'm going to drink the potion after we finish, too." Not want to, going to. And if he wouldn't allow it, Alice would sneak a vial out with her... but he would like it better if it was done under instructor supervision, right?

He got totally innocent but sincere looks from her. Cool, professor? Cool. Thanks.
That grin, Alice...Cosgrach shamelessly stared at her notebook and read the surname inside his brain: Fischer. The grin? He returned it with one of his own, but didn't actually SAY anything. She knew the rule, right? That as long as she wasn't caught..?

...

He gave her a look of 'C'mon, let the others suffer,' but he wasn't going to argue. So, in the end, he just muttered a "If you insist, Captain Fischer" only for her to hear, and went on strolling in the class.

Masks? "Not necessarily, because they much prefer dark and humid places, so they can't live on your face." Unless he wore masks everyday?

Oh, he was wandering in the class? Cosgrach shook his head at him. "Please remain in your seat." This was a warning, next would be point loss.

It HURT him to do so, but off her potion went. She looked like a sweet girl, but... that was too much. He didn't want to think how her fire would be like after that.

"It's 12 stirs IN TOTAL," he said, his distress obvious in his voice. He felt for her, but... there was nothing he could do.

"Please start over. You will have extra time at the end of the class to complete it."

SPLASH

He looked at the cauldron for a few minutes before fishing it out with his spoon. “Professor what happens if it fall into the potion, like I mean splash all the way in?” because that just happened.
So, Bart--no he wasn't going to rhyme words with it--splashed his shell.

Cosgrach smiled mischievously to himself. How convenient.

"Retrieve it with your spoon, do six stirs in total instead of twelve, and continue brewing." He was going to see what happened.

Small mistake? Cosgrach hurried to where she was in slight panic, and was relieved to see her potion didn't act weirdly. Phew. Good. Then it really was small.

"What is it, Miss?"

...clockwise stirring, although he said it ought to be COUNTER clockwise.

Cosgrach sighed to himself.

"I hope you've realised you stirred it clockwise," he said simply, without threateningly or anything. He was just letting her know so that she could brace herself for the outcome.

BEEHIVES GIRL WHERE WERE YOUUU?! T_______T
Kevin knew there would be consequences if he didn't notify Professor in time, right?

Right?

Cosgrach let him be until it got to an alarming state. Instead, he turned to class.

Well, at least they learnt to clean. That was promising.

He walked to the in front again and clapped his hands two times, because this step was the most important.

"This is the most important step," he announced to make sure he got everyone's attention, "So listen carefully. You should wait for another minute and just cut the slug vertically in the meantime in two." So it should be two thin and long pieces instead of two short and fat ones. Then add the pieces but stay away from the cauldron as far as you can. If you’ve done everything correctly, the surface should explode harmlessly and start burning. Put it out with your breath ONLY, so you’d better hurry before the fire spreads to the whole surface." Got it? Breath and staying as far as possible and everything?

OOC: The class will continue 7 hours later.
