The higher the voltage, the... the brighter the bulb?" Or was that Watts...? ... This... sounded a lot like those science classes back in primary school.

Wild and ridiculous numbers in that Arithmancy class and now more numbers in Muggle Studies. You didn't see this kind of nonesense happening in DADA, did no one else notice? With another sigh she raised her hand to answer, despite there being other responses. "The one with 9 would be brighter. It has more voltage and volts are what brightness are measured in." That was the only answer, like legit.

Lex tried to cheer herself up. MAYBE there WOULD be food afterall. Professor Hadley was a hufflepuff, there HAD to be food somewhere along the line...please?

Even though Tobias had pretty much grown up muggle, he still attended Muggle Studies, and apparently for a very good reason. Because if you're confused by something, then clearly you haven't mastered the topic, and that was the case here. Tobias knew the basics, just like any kid, but he had never had to deal with volts and stuff before, so he was tooooooooootally lost. Maybe he shouldn't have assumed he didn't have to read for this class.

"I thought it was about the strength of the bulb, not the batteries," Toby piped up, hand in the air and looking slightly pained because numbers and muggle science stuff and the requirement of actually having to use brainwork.

You can take the Professor out of Arithmancy...

"Alright, so each table is going to get to build a miniature circuit, as an example of how electricity works. The circuit will be controlled by a switch, just like if it were a broader scale, like the electric circuit in your house. But obviously we couldn't bring that circuit to the classroom." Too large. And way too much voltage.

"Name ONE material you think we need to build a circuit. I've already mentioned a few." So even if you knew nothing, if you were paying attention, then you should know at least two or three of the materials. "Hint; there's five that we'll be working with."
