Rupert Grint has been announced to lead a 3D animated version of
Foosball, based on the Spanish version of the feature, Variety announced on Friday. Do note that this is not a new movie, but that the
Harry Potter star and other English-speaking actors, including Anthony Head and Eva Ponsoby, will dub over the Spanish-speaking characters in the feature.
Quote:
“Harry Potter” star Rupert Grint will lead the English-language voice-cast of Juan Jose Campanella’s animated 3D feature “Foosball,” which bowed to strong applause and cheers at San Sebastián Friday, opening the Spanish Festival.
Grint will play “Foosball’s” hero Amadeo, a shy table soccer genius whose table soccer figures come alive to help him save his local town and win his childhood sweetheart, both threatened by a preening soccer mega-star.
The original Spanish-speaking Foosball will make its debut at the London Film Festival on October 19, but the English-dubbed version is currently in "advanced production," noted Variety. No word yet on a release date for the English-language version.
