Water plants... seemed to be a popular response.
Did they really think she was that obvious?... Blueberries! SPOILER!!: Selective Replies. BUT you ALL get points. Quote:

After the last student entered the greenhouse, he heard Professor Bentley started the lesson. And did he hear it right? They don't need to wear gloves in this lesson? Erm. Okay. What we'll be studying this term?
Well, there's tank in the greenhouse soooo "Alga, Professor." Messer answered after raising his hand. "Yes... of course it is."
Edward, Edvard... very similar, she got credit for that yes? "Nope, but good guess." Quote:

After settling down next to West, Theo's eyes glimmered over the tanks and a sudden shrill of excitement came over him..
He raised his hand, " Are we gonna adopt a fish?!" But then like.... he realized that he needed to alter his answer cos this was a class about plants, not animals. " I mean, adopt a wet plant." Seren eyed the Slytherin, and tried her best not to laugh out loud. It was an amusing theory though, and probably not a bad idea for something practical and long term. "No... not today." Quote:

Then Belle had an idea like all her other classmates, "Professor i think we are working with underwater plant life and possibly adopting them and taking care of them?" Belle asked unsure if she was right. Well... this adoption idea was... catching on. "Nope.. "
Other ideas? Quote:

The red head looked around with a huge pout on her face. All she saw was tanks, and tanks, and tanks filled with water and possibly plants too.
So maybe that? The red head raised her hand. "Professor are we learning how to look after various plants in water tanks?" Because out in the wild was different right? Like a lilly pad here and in a river surely needed different kind of care? Or maybe it didn't? Pout. Caring for plants was clearly not alwyas so simple. "Good guess... but no." Quote:

He let out a deep sigh and scratched back of his neck while staring at the semi-glowing tank.
Yeah...very interesting.
He took one step forward, or not, when the professor told them to gather and stared at the tank with his head tilted to the side. His gray eyes blinked at the things in the tank.
Aquatic plants yeah. Aurora smart girl. ''Whatever my girlfriend said, professor.''
She knew that Aurora was his girlfriend, right? Girlfriend?
Was she supposed to keep track of student relationships on top of her numerous duties.
At any rate, the answers thus far hadn't touched on the answer, so she shook her head, "No." Quote:

Maybe? Were there enough things to learn about corals to keep them busy for a whole term? ...Probably not, but it was worth a shot. Well that wasn't a bad guess. "Not this term, no." Quote:

Or are those animals?" he guessed as he raised his hand. Alex was such a bright student... she did sometimes wonder why he wasn't a GryffindorRavenclaw. "Corals are actually plants, but because they behave as plants do we do categorise their care in herbology... but we won't be looking at them this year." Quote:

The de-gnoming was enough to convince her of that.
No gloves??
Good because she hadn't brought any. Lex had taken a real gamble with her life by wearing them to class last term and who knew, this term there might really be a dragon and no one would see it coming--no one but her because she was obviously waiting to see one!
She moved closer to the Professor, now she had a better look at the tank! "Ummm...are we going to be learning about whatever this thing in here is?" She asked, giving the tank a few light taps.
It wasn't moving...definitely not very hazardous... Seren directed her gaze toward the tank Alexa pointed out... "To some extent," she mused, still not giving away the answer. Quote:

She had her green spiral notebook (she'd labeled the cover 'FIRST YEAR HERBOLOGY' in large, sharpie'd letters) out and her ballpoint pen was in her right hand, ready to take notes. She loved school, and the discovery of magical school was not at all unlike finding buried treasure. In the lake? "Interesting... but no."
And... she'd probably just take them to the actual lake for that one. Quote:

No gloves today? Hmm. She'd brought them, but they were tucked away in her bag right now, and there they'd stay. So did she want to guess what the lesson was about? Or, the whole school year, really? Well, it wasn't really that hard, now was it? "Definitely magical water plants," she said, raising her hand. "Oh, and...nice job on remodeling the greenhouse, Professor. It looks pretty cool." "Definitely?" she asked, smiling.
Oh good, it was 'cool' well that was a bonus. "Thank you dear." Quote:

She didn't just...no...that'd never happen.
He'd keep be keeping a closer eye on everything in the Greenhouse now. Nothing was going to catch him by surprise.
He did a quick double take and focused back on Professor Bently as she asked her question. " We'll be learning about Safe Aquatic Plants." Oakey answered now a little more paranoid Seren was amused, and saddened by Oakey's response. She hated knowing that a student was fearful of her subject, fearful to the point of paranoia. "It will be safe," she stated firmly, hoping the boy could relax now.
The responses thus far had been... rather vague or strange and interesting. Still, nobody had managed to really touch on their topic, until... SPOILER!!: Sort of the answer! ISH Quote:

Spike was hoping to do much more work in the greenhouses this year if possible, in preparation for his future. "Perhaps we could talk about it after the lesson?"
And with that, Spike went back to looking around the greenhouse, peering in tanks here and there. So much so, he nearly missed the first question of the lesson.
He tapped his finger lightly on his bottom lip as he thought about what they might be studying. Aquatic plants was a clear theme, but that seemed a bit too obvious for one of Professor Bentley's lessons. Hmm.
Spike paused at the glowing tank once more, and gave a thoughtful frown. It contained coral, but coral wasn't a plant - it was built by tiny animals. Did that mean the other tanks didn't just contain plants, but fish also?
Maybe it wasn't as simple as the type of plant - but the environment too. Hesitantly, he raised his hand. Listening to other people's answers, he wasn't too sure if he'd just over thought the whole thing.
"Aquatic ecosystems, perhaps?" Spike said, curiously. "YES!" ... Finally. "Well, sort of. We're not focusing on aquatic ecosystems, but ecosystems in general." "Ecosystems, or biomes, play an important role in the study of herbology. Can anyone tell me what an ecosystem is?" This shouldn't be guesswork... and it was a basic enough concept for them to understand. "Now would also be a good time to get your notebooks out... and bear in mind we will be moving around." OOC: The lesson will continue in approximately 12 hours. Please answer the QUESTION ONLY. Thank you (;
