Some lunatic, I reckon.
Think, Hudson, think. "Well, I could say that we're going to be facing a noise-making plant," she said. What else would you think? "Maybe a Screechsnap, or a Honking Daffodil." Yeah, Kat could make a list of those. She could add Mandrake... but a Mandrake would have broke all their eardrums in the process. If they were mature already. A noise making plant, in their dreams... "Nope, nice try." Quote:

She tried to focus back on the lesson and what the professor had asked them. Whatever was under that sheet was wanting to be heard, so what type of plants did that. Her mind could only focus on one plant that did that sort of thing. "Professor, will we be working with Mandrakes this morning." Yes, she remembered that these types of plants could be loud so maybe that was it. Mandrakes?... "No, not today..." Quote:

Seemed like they would either be learning how to get rid of a certain pest or they were going to be dealing with flesh eating herbs.
Herbs were, after all, the over all theme of the term...so whatever they were dealing with today had to do with herbs...and possibly their homework.
Glancing at Spike after his answer, Kurumi couldn't help but nod in agreement. That had been her first idea...but then she turned her attention to Vivi. Sure they had removed SOME of the terrifying from the greenhouses during their Herbology task...but that didn't mean they were ALL gone. Not to mention that they HAD lead them to the student garden to capture them...was this all their fault!?
Swallowing, Kurumi glanced back at her Head of House and raised her hand. "Blast-Faced Skrebeetles?" Please say no please say no please say no... Seren eyed her Prefect... now THAT was an interesting though. "No... unfortunately not." Quote:

In the meantime she tried to guess what might have been hiding under there. Hmmm. The fact that it made noises meant it clearly had a mind of its own; being disruptive without even caring. Yup. That's what it was doing but more to the point it probably had a mouth.
Her eyes widened in excitement when she thought she knew the answer and her hand shot up enthusiastically. "Professor is it a man-eating plant?!" She soooo hoped it was. That would just be EPIC. Wow. A man-eating plant. She would have never guessed, well...er...except for the fact that she DID just guess and of course she was right because she liked her idea best. Nod. Seren's eyes lit up.. flesh-eaters were her favourites after all, but sadly, she shook her head. "Not this term." Quote:

She had a bad feeling that she was going to get dirty anyways. It seemed like everybody else was pretty confident that it was going to be some kind of plant that made noise. She kind of sided with the person who thought it was Mandrakes. Obviously it was going to be something to do with a plant...this was Herbology.
She raised her hand. "Professor... considering we learned about taking preventative measures in the last class maybe this time we will be re-potting a plant that will require us to take preventative measures to ensure that is thrives." She hoped that her rambling made some sort of sense. Re-potting.. oh heavens no. "No, this will be much more exciting." Quote:

Finally he raised his hand with a PRETTY good guess, in his opinion. "Will we be dealing with Venomous Tentacula?" he asked. "Its early in the morning and since they don't like sunlight, and it's...sort of overcast right now," he said, looking at the sun coming over the horizon. "That's a very good guess," and she half wished it was their activity... " but no." Quote:

Up goes the hand "Professor... does it have anything to do with Jarveys?" since that mumbling hasnt really stopped since they got there, although he has yet to decipher anything that he could understand as rude or otherwise. Anything to do with jarveys?... Quote:

They're meant to be able to de-gnome gardens and we did talk about garden pests last time so..." So maybe it was a possibility that they'd get to see the Jarveys in action today? That would be kinda cool, actually. BEAM. Technically, she could say it was related, but really... it wasn't. Though, Ella was on the right track. "No.. not jarverys," was her response. Quote:

Future Auror or not, she was a Ravenclaw. One didn't have to be fastest... she just couldn't be slowest.
"Maybe another form of magical pest control, Professor? Something equally safe and unable to eat students." The Ravenclaw's emphasis on safe amused her. "Oh it's perfectly unable to eat students... unless you let it. Or force it..."
And then, amongst all the interesting, yet terribly incorrect responses, there were two correct ones... Quote:

"Is it Gernumbli gardensi, the garden gnome, Professor?" the Prefect asked, his lips curling upwards into a smile. Quote:

Mumbling and grumbling, hmm? Two thoughts passed through her mind, and both had already been mentioned. She could honestly see where the surprise behind (if you could call if a surprise) could be a lot of gnomes or a lot of jarvey. The second option would be quite humorous to watch....and listen to. Shrugging, she raised her hand, "Gnomes?" she suggested. "YES! Garden Gnomes," she nodded to Spike and Sierra. "Specifically for this lesson, the student garden has been... infested with garden gnomes. And our job," meaning their job, "is to de-gnome the garden."
She paused, if only to hear the moans an groans or even girlish squeaks of disgust. "But there's a catch... today's activity will be a contest between the Houses. Each House will receive points, regardless of where they finish, but the amount will be determined by their placing."
"Before I run through the rules, who can tell me how we de-gnome a garden?" OOC: The lesson will continue after ONE person answers the question. Note, this is not a required part for participation points, so it's perfectly fine if your charrie isn't the first/only person to answer.
