Jez walked into the courtyard feeling lonely. She hadn't seen any of her friends in ages, and she missed them, especially Nate. She'd been so wrapped up in schoolwork (determined as she was to show Keegan how good Hogwarts was for her and that he shouldn't even consider pulling her out ever again) that she'd forgotten that having fun was half of her school life.

Well now was a good time to reenergise it. She stood in the middle of the courtyard near the fountain, surveying the students walking around or sitting on the benches, a little smile tugging at her lips, wand held loosely in her right hand. "Creo Musica," she said softly, and the song she'd come to listen to a lot over the previous summer (it had been in Lex's CD box, and she may or may not have borrowed it and an old CD player when she had been bored) filled the courtyard, not amazingly loud but enough to be heard by everyone. She stared at the ground in front of her.
"Show me what it's like to be the last one standing," she sang softly along to the song. "And teach me wrong from write, and I'll show you what I can be ..." Suddenly she whirled around. "Aqua Eructo!" Clear water streamed from her wand like a transparent snake, glinting in the winter sunlight. Jez moved the ribbon of water like a whip, cracking it against the stone then twirling it through the air like a ribbon as the song played on, smoothly transitioning to the next song that had been on Lex's CD.
"Incendio eructo!" she cried, and the water changed to fire, leaping out in a long ribbon of flame. Jez laughed, using it like a sparkler, writing her name and drawing quick pictures in the air with her wand, which faded almost instantly.

Jez's fun didn't last for long, however. As she danced by herself, drawing pictures in the air, switching from fire to water and back again over and over, she felt a small tingling sensation in her toes. She was about to stop to scratch her foot (for it did feel a lot like an itch), when she suddenly seized up. The magic that had come from her wand stopped abruptly as Jez stood there as though turned to stone, her bright purple eyes, only a few moments before dancing with life, glassy and unmoving.

She didn't move a muscle.

OOC: Yep, Jez is frozen! Please feel free to go poke her and try and find out why she'd suddenly behaving like a statue.
And by the way, I made the Eructo Incendio spell up, because I couldn't find a suitable one in the canon, and it basically translates as "Cast Fire".
