 The follow announcement was posted on the Library Announcements board: Look over here! Yes, you if you signed up to help out in the library. Mr Kitridge is swimming in tasks that needs performing and figured that he would enlist the help of those who signed up with interest in helping out in the library.
The Tasks posted below will have NO time limit except before the end of term, meaning you can RP your student performing them in the vast number of the Library’s fun rp threads when it pleases you and your RL schedule. Be creative and have fun with your fellow students. These tasks are not mandatory they are just made up to give you an idea what a library technician might do if your student is interested in working with books in their future career. It’s up to you how your character performs the tasks however all Library rules apply and Mr Kitridge will not tolerate any rude or bossy behaviour within his library. If he sees any, he will take appropriate action.
Any who participate will be as a prize, treated to a trip outside Hogwarts to an as of this time undecided location. No house points will be awarded for doing any of the tasks below. The fun of RP and the possibility of character development should be enough. If you have any suggestions on locations your character wishes to visit feel free to owl(PM!) Nordic Witch.
Possible tasks you can perform:
• Cleaning: dusting the floor and books (not the ones in the restricted section), vacuuming the sofas, chairs, wiping the tables with wet wipes etc. Professor Bellaire will be on the lookout for those who practice the cleaning spells taught in the first Charms lesson of the term.
• Cataloguing: huge batch of new and old books have been shipped to the library that needs to be catalogued, tagged and put on the appropriate shelf. Any books that seem involve dark or dangerous magic needs to be put in a separate box outside Mr Kitridge’s office.
• Re-arranging books: The shelves need to be looked over and the books need to be arranged in alphabetical order. Any books that are found to be damaged or defaced needs to be carefully repaired with the use of the spell "Reparo libra" the wand movement is lightly touching the damaged spot in a circular motion. If the book(s) remains damaged then label it/them and put them a separate box for Mr Kitridge.
• Ridding the library of pests such as doxies with the use of doxycide and moth’s with special mothballs that are doused in a chemical that the moths dislike. You also have to remove any eggs or droppings the creatures might have left high and low throughout the library.
• Volunteer to help tutor peers
• Sit at the front desk and help out with finding books or other sources of material your fellow peers might require in their studies.
