Ashley was kind of caught off guard, this being her first experience with the new Department Head and all. She hadn't heard her behind them and she wondered if this woman was some kind of ninja or something. Would she be doing that in the offices too? Ashley would have to make sure she was always on her A game just in case. She gave the woman a smile and then glanced from Derek back to her, wondering what he was going to say. But then-

Ashley had noticed the change in tone and the eye narrowing. Merlin's pants. Whatever that guy had done to her, Ashley was just glad she wasn't in his shoes at this moment.

She turned to Derek and motioned for him to come with her. "I think it's best we go check out the office, don't you?" Quick man, lets get out of the line of fire.

He did notice the change in her look/mood when she faced the other guy that was sitting there. He raised his eyebrows and looked at Ashley. "Sure, yeah. Let's go." Derek said quickly and turned to follow his colleague.

She approved of them. She did. It was rather excellent that they could see a possible impending explosion for what it was. That meant they were well trained. You know, trained in Accidents -which there might be one involving one Edvard Roslund, and Catastrophes - which would be likely if anyone decided to interfere right now. Her attention, however, did not linger on her employees, rather it was focused on Edvard.

Achievements in Charming and Transfiguration today, and perhaps a copy of the Daily Prophet, but no rubbishy tabloids about Botts and Toussaints and Greenwoods and the like.

Her jaw was subtly clenched by the time he did stand up and present her with ... a bouquet of roses. Red roses. She did NOT take them, instead she folded her arms across her chest. "And just how did you find out about my new job?"

... it was creepy. Surely he was aware that he was being very creepy, and she was NOT amused.
