Taking a casual walk in woodland one afternoon while on holiday in the mountains, Katrina and 6-year-old Hana were attacked by warlock called Hekili, whose demon father Hyo and Katrina had killed only a month before. Katrina was murdered immediately trying to protect her young daughter, but Hekili held Hana hostage for months, torturing her before finally killing her and leading her father to her body, managing to get away even then. Freyja was devastated by the loss of her little sister and mother, and threw herself into training, determined not to let anyone else she loved die like they did - at the hands of the enemy.

Freyja is energetic and determined, and a talented fighter. She is usually easygoing and artistic, but will quickly become dangerous if threatened. On the outside, she's a happy-go-lucky people person, always trying to have a smile. With them he learnt how to control his magical and demonic powers to such a level that he could use both simultaneously, making him doubly powerful.

Jareth and Hekili worked as a team, taking down many powerful Shadow Hunters until they became the most feared demon/warlock team in Asia. Many legends sprung up about them, some invented by the two themselves to spread fear. The most popular one, was that they pulled out a canine tooth from each of their victims' mouths and made grotesque bracelets from them. Maybe this is the most popular legend because it is true.

Hekili was 20 years old when his father was killed by the Shadow Hunters Hyo and Karina Ryu. Filled with rage, Hekili travelled to the Ryus home country, America, and murdered Katrina and her young daughter Hana. He made a vow to wipe out Hyo Ryu's entire family, the thing that would hurt him the most, and so is now aiming for Freyja Ryu, although she has no idea of this. He has spent the past nine years searching for her, training for her death by continuing his infamous killing spree in America.

Hekili is cold, cunning and completely ruthless. His sole aim in life is to kill, especially Freyja Ryu, and to take down as many Shadow Hunters as possible. Nothing much more can be said of his personality than that..
