Lily walked into the Castle and then into the Great Hall. She looked up and saw the ceiling. She had read about this on the train, it was charmed to look like the sky. It was still amazing to see. As she walked through the hall with the others to be sorted, she looked left and right and saw the house tables filled with students waiting for the sorting to occur so that they could enjoy the feast. 'this is amazing' thought Lily, 'to actually be at Hogwarts, when I thought that all of this was only a dream!' The group reached the table at the front of the Great Hall. Here was a three-legged stool on which sat an old, shabby hat, the sorting hat. As it went through a bunch of names, Lily became very nervous. She hadn't gotten the chance to ask the girl on the train, Lilly, what happened when you are sorted. She had also lost the girl as they got off the train so Lily was alone, like she was on the platform. This is what Lily dreaded. Now it was her turn as the hat called out "Potter, Lily"
She walked up the steps slowly and sat on the stool as the hat was placed on her head. "Ahh, a little nervous are we? Well not to worry, I will place you in the right house." said the sorting hat. "What have we here? A smart mind, a cautious mind. oh and lots of loyalty towards our friends, but we need to make friends first before we can be loyal or trustworthy..." The hat went on and on for a couple of minutes before " Ah, I know the perfect house for you! It must be...
RAVENCLAW!!!!!!!!"
Lily sighed in relief as she got up and walked over to the ravenclaw table. The only problem had been emphasized by the hat, Lily hadn't made any true friends yet. The girl on the train was starting to be her friend but then had disappeared when the train stopped. and Lily though that the girl had said that she was in Gryffindor. Lily reached the ravenclaw table and looked around to see if she recognized anyone. She wasn't sure so Lily sat at the nearest open seat to wait for the feast to begin.
