And she wouldn't have minded if the hug had lasted a bit - or awhile - longer, but he was already pulling away, so she did as well and tried not to seem too reluctant.
She nodded in answer to his question. "Yeah, I've slept fine." Now that you're okay. She didn't say that aloud though. Did she really need to? He surely knew that was the reason she hadn't gotten any sleep in the days surrounding his operation, and now that everything was okay, she could rest much more easily. "I'm glad to hear that," she replied with a soft smile.
Then, suddenly, she felt something take her hand, and, upon glancing down, saw that it was Anakin's hand. She thought her heart stopped for a fraction of a second, but fortunately she didn't get that awkward feeling that she'd had nearly the entire time they went to Hogsmeade the past November. This actually felt really nice. She smiled as she looked back up at him. "It was no problem. I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else."
Anakin wondered if perhaps Vashti didn't seem a little reluctant when he ended the hug, he knew he was almost reluctant to have done so but he didn't want to appear too suspicious. Although, would it have mattered really? He was interested in her, he
knew he liked her, that was why he'd asked her to Hogsmeade the previous November. She probably already knew he was interested, right?
Hearing she had slept easier, Anakin nodded.
"Good." He didn't want her to get sick. That just wouldn't be good at all, not when it was still summer especially and when she should be able to spend the time out of school doing a whole bunch of fun things
unlike being in a hospital waiting room. Remembering his quick analyzation when they were hugging, Ani raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Did you get taller?" Anakin didn't even think about highheels, which probably would have been more logically had he.
"Thank you." He smiled easily.
Ani watched her eyes flick down to their hands for a second, and that made him feel a little nervous, but he still didn't release his hold. A slight wind picked up, and a stray hair of hers fluttered out towards his face. Anakin used his free hand to push it back behind her ear, before focusing back on her mouth and listening to what she was saying. Turning a bit red after she'd spoken, but still smiling, An gave a tiny nod.
"Honestly, though I felt bad to make you come wait in a hospital, I was...really glad you were there." He turned a little brighter.
"I...wouldn't let anyone speak until you got there though. I...wantedtohearyourvoicefirst." It was cheesy, beyond cheesy, but that had been the truth. Anakin knew what his Da sounded like from back before he lost his hearing, but he'd never gotten to hear Vashti's voice. It was a small thing, yes, but it had meant a lot for her's to be the first voice he heard after he'd regained some of his hearing.
Anakin wasn't quite used to being able to hear yet, and out of habit he always kept him mouth on people's lips when he talked, even though there was no reason. Vashti had been no exception, and feeling...perhaps a little sentimental, or romantic, or whatever you wanted to call it, he could feel himself leaning down closer to her, and he knew the intent he possessed, but An stopped for a second, flicking his eyes up to meet hers. If it was going to make her uncomfortable with him, he'd stop right here, right now, and pretend nothing had happened.
