| egg project post #10 ^_^ Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict Another long day of classes and studying for exams. Stella was definitely ready for bed, especially considering she was going to have to do the exact same thing tomorrow. And the next, and thenext, until exams rolled around. At least that was going to be soon, as the time left in the term was going by awfully fast. She was a bit torn about that, seeing as she knew she was going back to France at least for a while. Which meant not seeing Matt for a while, even if it also meant getting to spend time with Risa. She had to actually get through the term, though, and OWLs. Which reminded her about classes, and Oberon. The egg had been rather quiet all day, which both made her feel good and worry at the same time. At least it hadn't gotten to a point of her egg being pushy again, but she still took it out of her skirt pocket and set it in the little basket by her bed.
"Not too much longer, Oberon," she said to the egg, as she changed into her pajamas. Climbing onto the bed, she stroked Lyra for a few moments as the kitten snuggled up by her side, then applied herself to checking on the egg again. She definitely wanted to make sure she'd gotten it comfortable before going to sleep, just like she did every night, even if she figured it was almost time for it to hatch. She was so close that she wasn't about to fail now. What's up tonight?, she thought to herself, leaning over to gently touch the egg in its snuggly little basket. Temperature seemed alright, if maybe the teeniest bit too cold. That was easily fixed, but she wondered if she should regulate other things first. Namely, Oberon seemed a bit damp. Almos tlike the egg could sweat, even though she hadn't known it to be affected by her body temperature before now. Plus, she'd have thought it would have been warm if it had overheated enough to sweat. Definitely dry it off first. Taking her wand from where she'd lain it near her pillow, like always before bed, she twirled it at pointed it at the egg. "Argentum siccus." Once the egg was dry again, she shifted her grip on her wand for the second charm. Time to make sure it was warm enough. "Argentum calidus," she cast. Touching the egg one more time, she made sure it was the right temperature. "Time for bed, Oberon," she murmured, once she'd taken her hand back and shifted Lyra to one side so she could get under the covers. She could write in her journal after getting in bed, after all.
