Kurumi should have known that mixing chocolate chips with pumpkin pasties in a transfigured ice cream maker in the Transfiguration practice room wasn't going to be a good idea. She should have started off with something simple like vanilla bean or strawberry, but nooo...she had insisted that she try something difficult first to challenge herself and do something complicated and closer to what she wanted her final project to look like. Instead, what she had made was a chunky mess of...something that was currently in a Tupperware container in her bag. Maybe Josh would eat it...
Kurumi was just about to step onto a staircase when it moved out from under her foot and she clung to the railing to prevent herself from falling forward. She should have gone another way...Kurumi forgot how much she disliked this part of the castle. While Kurumi waited for the staircase to come back, she felt her pocket...freak out. "Merlin...not again," Kurumi sighed as she reached in and removed the egg from her pocket. Not only was it bouncing, but it was glowing again...and rather intensely. Sighing a bit, Kurumi reached into her other pocket and pulled out her wand to perform the proper spells...when the bloody egg jumped out of her hands.
Kurumi probably had a face that resembled a troll stepping on a pitchfork as she watched her egg fall towards the ground. Her hands reached out for it, but it hit the railing and shot off in a different direction towards a staircase that was moving in the opposite direction from her. GAH! Kurumi watched as it landed and thankfully didn't roll off the staircase as it move opposite of where she was standing, glowing like a firefly in the middle of the night. One of the staircases came back towards her, allowing her to step onto it...only to find that her egg had hopped onto another one. What did hopping mean again? Oh, that's right...the bloody thing just wanted attention.
"Aristotle, you have succeeded in getting my undivided attention," she shouted across the expanse of moving staircases. Hopefully the thing was bloody happy, she didn't have time for this seeing as she was a bit behind on her other assignments. But the egg didn't seem to be finished, and continued to bounce around and around from staircase to staircase as if it were taunting her. Kurumi rolled up her sleeves and grit her teeth as she took careful aim at her egg as it hopped closer towards her. "Immobulus!" she shouted, and the egg froze in mid hop. Now that she felt it was safe to breathe again, Kurumi did so and then flicked her wand towards the egg again. "Accio Aristotle," she said with a heavy sigh and the glowing egg came zooming towards her.
Now back in her hands, Kurumi rolled her eyes and swished her wand over the egg. "Argentum," and a soft tap. "Calidus." The glowing ceased, as did its annoying bouncing. "You know, we really need to figure out a better system for you to tell me when you want attention," she sort of laughed. She was losing it...she was talking to her metal egg now.
She never should have given it a name.
