| egg project post #5 :/ Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict While the rainy weather was making Stella almost wish she could have stayed curled up by the fire in the common room, she knew that she had to get out. Not only because of classes, but there were certain books and other things she needed for studying that she didn't have in the common room. Not to mention she was tired of checking on Oberon all the time in the common room or her dorm. She imagined the egg enjoyed getting out just as much as she usually did, even if it spent most of the time still wrapped up in a scarf in her bag. She just had to remember not to take the egg out outside while it was raining, since she imagined that might be a bit too much water for keeping Oberon comfortable.
Instead, she merely stopped about halfway down the corridor outside the Ravenclaw common room, and took the scarf-wrapped egg out of her bag. "How are we doing today?," she asked quietly, feeling a low vibration coming from the wool. It was enough to unwrap the egg, even though it didn't seem to be need for real concern, and she tilted her head slightly as she regarded it. It looked to be at about the right moisture level, but as she got her hand closer, she felt the heat coming from the surface. Definitely too hot, she thought, before taking her wand out. "Argentum frigidus," she cast, pulling back on the spell as she noticed the egg getting colder. She didn't want to make it freeze, either, but as she lowered her wand hand, she realized things were alright. Well, Oberon was a little dull and lint-covered, but that was also easily fixed with a quick polishing.
"Excolo," she cast, bringing her wand hand up again to trace the outline of her egg and concentrating until the metal surface was sparkling again. It didn't take long, and she finally slipped her wand back into its holster once she'd finished. Now time to go find a good place to study, although that usually ended up being the library. Especially when it was raining out. Slipping Oberon into her sweater pocket, she set off for the stiarwell. "Let's go study some more. Exams are coming," she said, still quietly. No need to make people think she was crazy quite yet by talking to herself. Or, in this case, talking to a metal egg in her pocket.
