It had barely been a week since she sent her mother a letter, and yet she was already back in the owlery, eagerly waiting for the reply. It wasn't as if she had mentioned something particularly special, but she simply had nothing to do and waiting for her mother's reply seemed like a good way to pass the time.

She eyed the ground for a moment, pulled out her wand and said "Scourgify" cleaning the area before she sat down, pulling her bag close to her.

"Hey there, Allie." Cass said as she took the slightly warm egg out of the bag "How are you doing in there?" She asked with a grin, which was returned by a slight jiggle, causing the blonde Slytherin to laugh. "I'm going to take that as you're fine."

Then she stroked the egg lightly, but was shocked to find it, sort of wet. "Huh? I don't remember putting anything with water in the bag." Cass said with a frown as she peered into her school bag and saw nothing that could have made her little Allie wet. "No matter." She said as she pulled her wand out and twirled it once before pointing it at the egg in her hand and saying "Argentum Siccus" drying it at once, but now, it seemed, well cold? And well, she didn't want to take any chances, what if metal eggs catch colds too?! She wouldn't want Allie to get sick. So, she swished and tapped her egg once while saying "Argentum Callidus" making to go warm again. Perfect.

Just then, a loud hoot was heard around the owlery. Cass looked up and saw Cynus fly around in a wide circle before she landed on her owner's outstretched legs. "Easy on the bird claw things, Cygnus." Cass said with a wince when the bird landed on her ankle, a folded letter in her beak.

"What's that?" Cass asked as she reached for the letter, and opened it, quickly scanning its content before pocketing it. She would read it later, letters from mother were usually long, and this wasn't an exception.

Just then her owl hooted loudly as she watched her eye the silver egg on her lap disdainfully.

Cass watched the hostile owl for a minute before turning her attention to her silver egg, which was just sitting there, doing nothing. Maybe its a defense mechanism?

"Easy girl." The blonde said as she pulled the egg closer to her, while she watched the bird carefully, trying to gauze if it was going to attack her Charms finals.

Cynus flapped her magnificent wings wildly as it hooted loudly once more, causing her to shriek out in alarm and surprise, which in turn, surprised the egg and of course the owl who flew away, but not before dropping a couple of surprises for her owner, and the silver egg.

Cass touched the top of her head, disgust evident on her pale face as she looked at the bird poo that had transferred from her hair to her hands. She looked down on her egg and saw that Allie, too, had a bit of bird poo on her. So, she brought out her wand, touching it with her non-stained hand and moved her wand in a circle over the...affected area, while saying "Excolo" Then she stood up, and placed her egg carefully back into her bag "At least you can be cleaned so easily." The blonde grumbled as she headed back down to the castle. She needed a bath. Now.
