When Gideon had woken up that morning and checked on his egg as he had taken to on a semi regular basis. However this time it felt different and when he was sat up, he took the silver item into his hands only to feel it shiver.
What in Merlin's beard?
It certainly hadn't done that before, especially in response to his touch. Well was it his touch...or just a response to anything that he just happened to turn his attention to it when it was reacting? Whatever the case, Gideon knew he should try and see if he should do something. Remembering his notes from Charms class, he got up to retrieve them returning to his bed and sitting with the egg on his pillow in front of him and his notes beside them both.
Maybe it didn't like the cold weather...and he had moved it from warmth?
It certainly made sense so he slipped out his wand to cast something that could help. "Alright so argentum calidus should warm it," he mused, looking over the incantation and wand movement so he would get it right. "Argentum Caldus!" he finally cast with the appropriate swish and tap on the egg itself. Gideon couldn't help relax when he picked it up and felt the egg stop shivering as it got warmer because of the spell.
Guess it worked...
