Tending to Mischievous - Post 4 Dancing is cool! | Passionate Lion | Keeps Harry's Helium Balloon♥
William had gone to the Gryffindor House Table to eat his breakfast. He had just taken a seat at the table when his egg Mischievous suddenly jumped out his pocket and began to skip across the table away from him. William suddenly realized that the egg must have been afraid because there were a lot of people sitting at the four tables eating eggs for their breakfast. Ahhh, that made sense. Even though Mischievous was made of metal there must be some kind of empathy there for its more delicate brethren.
William had no chance to eat his breakfast. He had to stop and go after the egg, which was now on the floor and beginning to skip away from him. Mischievous was headed towards the Entrance Hall and was about to head out onto the grounds. William didn't want to make a spectacle of himself and he especially didn't want to alert any of the house elves who worked in the kitchen. What if they captured his egg and cooked it? That would not be a good thing.
William finally caught up with the egg, but found that it had become so dry that it was about to crack, or at least it seemed that way. Maybe that was one of the reasons Mischievous had been trying to escape in the first place, William thought. He had better try and help the situation.
William remembered a spell he had learned in Charms class. Taking his wand out of his pocket carefully he twirled it, at the same time pointing the wand and saying "Argentum Humidus!" He saw that Mischievous was no longer as dry, there didn't seem to be any more danger of cracking. It was good to know a moisturizing spell like that, William thought, it might even come in handy at the beach when you were trying to get a suntain and it was getting too hot.
William carefully returned Mischievous to his pocket and continued on his way. At least his egg wasn't going to end up in anyone's stomach today!
