William has the egg he was given in Charms class. He has decided to carry it with him wherever he goes because he wants to make sure that it hatches properly. William takes the egg and lays it down on the ground near the Whomping Willow. To his surprise, the egg seems to be moving away from him. William notices that the egg is actually moving almost as though it were skipping. Is this even possible from a metal egg? William feels a bit of excitement, maybe his egg is the most special one of all.

Just then William noticed the egg is starting to get a little dirty. He doesn't want it to tarnish because that would be very bad for it. Whatever comes out of that egg should be kept as nice as possible, that's what the professor had been telling them when she gave the students the eggs and told them to take care of them with the spells using had taught them. Perhaps it was time to use one of those spells now.

"Excolo!" William said, pointing his wand towards the egg. He used a tracing motion over the areas of the egg which were the dirtiest, and was happy to see that the egg was nice and clean again. In fact, it looked as good as new. He checked to make sure the egg was at the right temperature before he put it back into the pocket of his robe and headed off to the Gryffindor Common Room. It should be safe and happy inside his pocket, nice and clean, too.

Just then William realized there was something that was actually inside that egg, something that needed a name. He decided to name whatever was inside there Mischievous, since that would fit either a boy or a girl. Yes, Mischievous would fit perfectly.
