Disappointment

Ginny left Hermione to deal with the missing Ron and Harry. Where in the world where they anyways? They had to be on the train. Right?

“Firs’ years o’er here. Firs’ years o’er here,” Ginny looked up and saw Hagrid motioning the first years his way towards the boats.

The young red first year made her way slowly towards the boats still thinking of her lost brother and friend. Really? Didn’t they want to come back to Hogwarts. They had said it was amazing. Then why weren’t they here?

Ginny sighed as she loaded into a boat with Luna Lovegood and Colin Creevey. This was going to be an interesting ride. Luna seemed to be a bit of an oddball and Colin talked a lot. Colin also had a camera from which he kept on snapping random pictures.

“Save some space for a picture of the castle,” Ginny sighed. “It is supposed to be amazing.”

FLASH!

“Ok,” Colin replied back cheerfully after taking yet another picture. “Did you know Harry Potter goes here? I can’t wait to meet him. He is so amazing. Do you think he will give me his autograph?”

Ginny sighed yet again by this Colin boy. “Yes I do know that. He is my brother’s best friend and is very nice. I am not sure if he really wants the fame though. I’d say leave him alone. Plus, I don’t even know if he made it to Hogwarts. Me and Hermione couldn’t find him on the train.” Ginny explained before deciding to tune the boy out.

Suddenly the magnificent view of Hogwarts came. It was as beautiful as Ginny had ever imagined it to be. Sighing she wondered if Harry and Ron had made it before she saw a strange sight. A flying car just like her dad’s. Wait a minute, it was crashing. Into the Weeping Willow. Oh no, this was not good. Chances are that’s where Harry and Ron were. That sight passed as they made it up to the castle.

Sorting. This was going to be scary. But, the sorting hat was wise. It might know her parents. A single strand of hope remained in Ginny.

“Weasley, Ginerva.”

Ginny slowly walked up and put the hat on. ‘Who were my parents?’ she asked silently. ‘Can you help me’

‘First of all you would be an amazing Hufflepuff, loyal and caring. A superb Ravenclaw, smart. A great Slytherin, sly and joking. Or a Gryffindor, loyal, brave, and courageous. As for your parents. There are still living memories left of them at school. Search and perhaps you will find them.’ The hat said very quietly.

Ginny listened, crestfallen. No names. This was very depressing.

“Gryffindor,” the hat screamed.

Ginny made her way over to the Gryffindor table. Sitting next to Hermione trying to look happy about her sorting. Trying to not show her disappointment.
