Moving on.
She grabbed one of the small bushes and dragged it to where she sat. The plant was quivering slightly and Louisa liked it. Even with the dead twigs and bad leaves. She shrugged and held her wand tightly, she didn't want hers go flying in the air like that Huffie boy. "Flipnsnipwitit." She muttered swishing her wand but thanks to the moving bush a perfect twig got trimmed instead of the dead one.
Louisa frowned and paused for a minute. "Professor? Can we stun the bush first?" She suggested coldly, it wasn't as if the plant was alive… no matter what the books said, Louisa had her own theories to go by. Freezing the plant, particularly this one, would only make it easier to trim, right? "Of course you may," smiled Seren.. sure it was easier... though it was less fun. Quote:

"Flipnsnipwitit," to her great suprise, the leaf came off without a hitch. "I did it!" she announced the the room in general. She was so proud of herself that she'd forgotten her manners, and shouted. She glanced around at the people who were probably staring at her now. "Sorry," she mumbled. Presley the proceeded to trim the rest of the plant so that it looked generally like everybody else's plant. Seren couldn't help but grin as the excitable Ravenclaw mastered the spell. "Well done!" she cheered, clapping her hands together happily. Quote:

"Welcome to your new home Goliath." he smiled smally. He seemed to be able to interact with plants better than people sometimes, plants were rarely rude, and yes he meant rarely, they had their days too.
Now he had to fill it in with the soil he had extracted? Ummm...he blasted the hole and then fixed it from there. So he looked around and then pushed a buch of soil from a pile nearby into Goliath's hole, patting it gently. There all better. Ooohh Riley had named his plant? Brilliant!
Seren highly approved of this, "Goliath... it has a nice ring to it," she said smiling at the Gryffindor and Goliath. Quote:

Presley tied her bright purple tag to her flutterby bush, and raised her hand. "Can I go wash my hands please, professor?" Please say yes, please say yes. Pres really was having a rough time with this dirt thing. Her hands were disgusting, and she needed them washed as quickly as possible. The class might not be over, but if her hands weren't clean soon, Presley would have an anxiety attack. Wash?... "Had you not been wearing your gloves?" asked Seren, an eyebrow raised quizically. But... she couldn't let the girl stand there with dirty hands. She nodded her head in the direction of the washroom, right by the entrance/exit of the greenhouse. "Quickly," she said with a smile. Seren didn't like it when people weren't attentive... Quote:

Alright, step one. He pulled on his gloves like a good herbology student and went to get a Flutterby bush from the front of the room. He brought it back to his spot and stared it down for a moment. The staring had seemed to work on the branch, so he figured it would work on the bush, too. It was moving a bit, so he said, "You're going to have to hold a bit more still than that," and gently took hold of it to stop it from moving so much. "Now I'm going to trim back all this dead stuff and... Whatnot." He figured if he told it what he was doing, maybe it would be less stressed and move about less. (Was that even why they did that?) He aimed his wand very carefully toward a dead area. "Flipnsnipwitit," he said, and swished his wand. He had done a pretty precise job. Not perfect, but pretty close to it for it only having been the second time he'd really done the spell well. "That's better, isn't it?" he asked the plant, moving on to another dead area. "Flipnsnipwitit," he said again, swishing his wand and pruning the plant more. He repeated the spell on a few more areas until the plant looked presentable. "You look sorta cute," he commented to it. "I think I'm going to call you George. You seem like a George to me." On to step 2! Oohh and another student named their plant! This was brilliant indeed! It was always nice to see students connecting with their plants on an emotional level... they would certainly make good herbologists. "I quite like the name George for him," she said grinning brightly. Quote:

He had to interrupt himself briefly to wipe his sweaty forehead with his handkerchief, then fold his sleeves, because soil was falling into them and they were already a little wet from the water. After that he resumed, singing.
" Let us take a little bush, plant it gently it, water it well. Little bush in the ground, grow up safe and sound "
He continued singing as he began to pat down the soil, as gently as he though he was tucking baby dragon in its nest. He made sure it was all evened out, without any lumps or holes. The plant was beginning to look great, and it seemed to be feeling great, too, because it was swinging from side to side, rather than shaking or quivering.
------
Eino had to touch that dragon dung stuff again? The things he does for plants! He took a pinch of dragon dung and sprinkled all around the plant's base, then repeated this same behavior several times. Freshly watered and freshly dunged! What else could a plant want?!
He then took off his dragon hide gloves, got up and stretched his legs before retrieving a ribbon. Planting was hard work, and this had only been one bush! When he could feel his legs again he made his way to the Professor's table and took his time choosing a ribbon. He wanted a yellow one, but the blue ones were also very nice. Decisions, decisions. He closed his eyes and took a ribbon randomly. Orange. He put it back, closed his eyes again and took another ribbon. Green. He put it back and did the same thing. Pink. Again. Yellow. Finally! He ran back to his working station wrote his name, his house, and after much contemplation the name of the plant and tied the ribbon to it. Ahh yes, it was just like Eino to name his plants, such a bright young Ravenclaw. And singing too! Oh that Flutterby Bush was certainly getting some good TLC.
As she walked passed Seren hummed along to Eino's song... she quite liked singing and humming. Quote:

Humming to herself now, Kurumi sprinkled the dragon dung around the plant and then patted everything down gently. Hmm, perhaps everything was now packed in too tightly. Kurumi stuck her fingers in the dirt and moved it around a bit so that it wasn’t as flat and looked, well, more natural. Feeling satisfied with the word she had done, and after adding a thin layer of dung RIGHT at the base of the trunk of the bush sticking out of the ground, Kurumi returned to her station and crossed off the final step.
Now for tagging her plant.
Picking up one of the labels at the front, Kurumi wrote down the needed information and then drew a butterfly under her name, year, and house.
Having now completed all the steps, Kurumi sat down next to her Flutterby Bush and began to hum. There wasn't any real melody in mind, but the tune was soft and simple. The plant seemed to be dancing back, which made Kurumi smile, but the reality was that it was just doing what all Flutterby Bushes do best: flutter. And Miss Hollingberry was connecting with her Flutterby Bush as well. All this TLC made Seren feel very proud... and very happy. "Your Flutterby Bush looks very happy," she said smiling down at the Gryffindor.
Continuing to pace the length of the greenhouse monitoring the students' progress Seren stopped towards the centre of the group. "Ok everyone, hopefully you'll be finishing up soon." She said urging them along. OOC: Great work so far everyone! I will leave the thread open for another 22 hours. So for those of you that havn't finished yet- dont panic, you should have enough time to do so. Note that students have not been dismissed yet-- in actual time they wouldn't be waiting very long. I will post homework at the end of the lesson. Thanks Everyone!
