Chapter Nine: "Welcome to class Ms. Stone,"
Bethany's PoV
I was finally released from the hospital, I was given books and supplies that I would need, and I was on my way to my first class.
A lot of people whispered behind their hands as I passed. I was dressed in Hogwarts' robes, with the colors of Gyffindor. Scorpius muttered to me, as one girl froze in place and instantly started to her friend in a hushed tone, "They're just jealous that you're walking next to me and they aren't." He slung his arm around my shoulder and smirked at me.
I bit back my laughter and responded to him, probably louder then I needed to, "Well, Yolanda's probably jealous."
He blinked and cocked his head at me, "What's that supposed to mean?" Boys are really oblivious to everything.
"Oh...Nothing," was my response as we reached Professor Longbottom, who was waiting out near the green houses.
We were kinda late to class because Headmistress Mcgonagall had to give me my books, and I had dragged Scorpius along with me, not really wanting to walk down to class alone.
Professor Longbottom saw me, smiled widely, and said happily, "Welcome to class Ms. Stone, I assume you listened on my class often enough that you're caught up?" I knew he was just kidding (even though I had listened in on his class, actually I listened to his class with the fourth years, and fifth years, so I was kinda ahead, just like with transiguration and quidditch..).
I smiled back, "Yes, Sir, thank you."

I really lucked out when it came to quidditch. Well, I lucked out, the seeker however, did not. After one unfortunate practice, the seeker was placed in the hospital and deemed unfit for the final few games... So there I was, decorated in gryffindor quidditch team robes, ready for my first game, after only two practices.
James Potter, the captain of the team and star chaser had made me take it easy the first practice, but when I ignored him and went for the snitch full force (It was easy because I was used to being in the background and noticing things other people didn't) he allowed me to "Beat the Boogers out of those slimey Slytherins!"
William of course was not happy with all this, he had wanted me to relax, and to not "over excite" myself. After the excitement I've had recently, I didn't really think that playing a sport could count as excitement, but James convinced him that it would work out.
James, amongst others on the team, were not that happy that I was such close friends with a Malfoy (him having walked me to practice and picking me up after, through orders of Will, which is kinda dumb because Will goes to the same place I do...) But I just said for them to live with it because he saved my life and if they couldn't deal with that then I would leave the team.
And they lived with it, even managed to fake a few friendly hellos when he came by. It was kinda funny, (Ever notice how often I use the word kinda?) and gave me and William some amusement.
Anyway, my first game came up. Us v.s. Them. (Us=well...us, Them=the snakes..aka Scorpius)
Scorpius was the seeker for the Snake's team so this would be fun. We walked out onto the field just as it started to rain. Cool. An epic battle in the rain. As their team walked onto the field and the captains shook hand I searched for Scoprius, not that hard since he was one of the smallest members on the team. We met eyes and smirked at each other. We had one of those wordless conversations where you just speak with your facial expression.
To sum it, I let him know that we going to cream them.
And that is what we did...barely.
Scorpius had seen the snitch first and I had been lagging behind him. But he had become too cocky when he saw how far behind I was. He tried to tease me, slowing down then speeding up again. It was during this that I slowly caught up and that he lost sight of the snitch. I manage zoom ahead and grab it just as our chaser were beginning to fall behind in points.
Scorpius and I joked about it later, he kept saying he let me win and I would just brush him off, knowing full well that no Malfoy, no matter which one, would let you win at anything.
