Chapter Two: Scorpius' PoV

“Lorcan, tell me again what the heck I'm doing here?” I muttered to my kind of friend, some celabration party for Ireland winning the world cup, this was, I didn't know a single person here.

“You're here to celebrate the quidditch world cup game, honestly Scorp, you need to get out and about more often.” Lorcan laughed at me then walked away, evil git.

Sighing, I walked around aimlessly doing nooooothing, cause there was nothing to do, then the lights dimmed, I freaked out, obviously. Then someone said happy birthday to someone. Oh yippee, I just love birthday's, not. Who's Rose anyway? I mean, the name did sound somewhat familiar, but I don't know, it is a common name isn't it.

I was half awake and heading towards the drink table and trying to stay out of the way and also moving increidbly slowly, glancing around to make sure that I didn't bump into anybody (not that I really would, cause I was avoiding everyone) when my eyes locked with bright blue ones, it was a girl, she looked at me confused, clearly wondering if we'd met before, there was some memory in my mind that I couldn't exactly recall, but we must have met at some point, she looked so familiar! Maybe it was one of Lorcan's or Lysander's ex girlfriends? Huh, she looked to pretty to have ever dated one of them, er, not that they didn't date pretty girls, she was just prettier then average pretty.

For some reason we both started to walk towards each other and ended up like, in the middle of the room, face to face? Kind of an awkward situation if you ask me. “Hey, I'm Scorpius.” I gave her a quirky, Malfoy style smile, smooth, really smooth. Yup, I'm talented, got it all from my dear dad, I also really hoped this made the awkwardness went away, that would be good.

“Uh, hi, I'm Rose.” WAIT! Rose, birthday person Rose? Brain is not working at the moment, but yea, maybe it was after the birthday girl all.

“Cool, happy birthday I guess?” I wasn't sure what exactly to say right then.

“Ha-ha, yea, I guess.” She blushed, probably didn't like being noticed, hm, I kind of understood why, er, not really, never mind. “Uh, you enjoying the party?” Rose then asked, clearly at a lack of what to say.

“No, not really, I don't know anybody here.” I admitted truthfully.

“Really? Same here!” Rose smiled a little bit, and I nearly sighed in relief, I was not alone in not knowing people, good for me. “Never really fit in the 'social butterfly' group.”

“Me either, if I did my parents might have had a heart attack.” I joked, countering her quick remarks.

“Parents, you never mentioned your last name.” Rose pointed out, raising her eyebrows.

“Well neither did you.” I shot back, somewhat defensively.

“Touche, I'm Rose Weasley by the way.” Oh, Weasley, huh, I don't care, even though my parents might.

“Scorp Malfoy.” Did I seriously just address myself as Scorp?

“That's hysterical, the only person I can actually talk to at this party, is the one I'm forbidden to talk to.” OH YEA, I remember her now.

“Same here, same here.” I chuckled, well this was certainly an enchanting conversation, no sarcasm there believe it or not.

“So do you have any siblings?” Rose couldn't help but ask.

“Nope, luckily I'm an only child, yourself?” I queried, smirking a little bit.

“Younger brother, Hugo.” Oh that kid that causes a lot of trouble, ha, I've heard of him.

“Nice,” not sure what else to say, I was happily an only child. “Just guessing here, but since you don't really know anyone here other then family members, I take it you were dragged along?”

“Yeah, pretty much.” Rose nodded a little bit. “It was probably because of the whole birthday thing, honestly, I forgot about it myself.” She paused to laugh before continuing. “The worst part is, I hate surprise parties.”

“Ah, so do I.” We have so much in common, it makes me feel like jumping around and screaming, then I'd look really insane. I was still have an enchanting time here, and enchanting is a weird word.
