Study Hall was one of Hermione’s favorite times of the day. Not only did everyone have to be quiet and do their work, it also gave her an excuse to read without certain people telling her that she was reading too much. She glanced to her right to see Ron essentially asleep with his nose pressed flat against the pages of his Charms book. To her left, Harry was reading Quidditch Through the Ages.

“Don’t you think you ought to be studying for your O.W.L’s?” she asked.

“Hermione, we can’t all be insane like you,” Ron said not moving his head an inch.

“Look what we have here, a deadbeat Weasley and a Mudblood studying together. I suppose you are reading Weasley a bedtime story then, Potter,” came the slimy voice of Malfoy as he approached their table.

“Go away, Malfoy,” hissed Harry.

“Oh, really scary, Potter. You ought to try saying the same to a dementor sometime.” He glanced back at Hermione. “And make better friends than with Mudbloods.”

Hermione, thinking Malfoy could use a good mouth wash with all the dirty things he was saying, cast Sourgify on him and soon he was spitting out soap bubbles.
