Ron squirmed around uncomfortably in his seat as Cormac weaseled his way between himself and Hermione. Leaning around him, Hermione glanced at Ron not so much out of concern, but to see just how agitated he was and was pleased to see that he looked like a cross between Snape every time he looked at Harry and a mandrake screaming.

“So, Granger, did you know that I am trying out for the Quidditch team? With reflexes like mine, it would be silly for me not to be a member of it,” Cormac said flicking his eyes towards Harry for a moment before resting his gaze on Ron. He reached out an arm to put around Hermione, but she ducked out of the way just in time.

“Delightful,” Hermione groaned through a smile as she focused on keeping her gaze on her own dessert as if it were the most fascinating thing in the world. “Shouldn’t you be getting ready for tryouts?” She glance across the table at Harry hoping he would say something, but Harry merely shook his head and looked away.

“You’re right,” he smiled walking away.

“I hope his Braking Charm breaks his neck,” Ron hissed.
