Hogwarts RPG Name: Elena Petrova Gryffindor Second Year x8
| not throwing away my shot | Slytherpuff | roll for initiative | woof you ❤ Leela joined her friends bright and early the next morning. The first day of classes was pretty much the only day she would wake up early. On every other day she practically had to be dragged out of bed.
"Hey hey Leela," Jade said as Leela sat down by them. Leela grinned at her and grabbed a bowl of cereal. She wasn't quite sure what it was, she just knew that it had chocolate in it.
"Turner brought out schedules," Cassie informed her. "I said I'd give you yours." With her mouth stuffed full, Leela took her schedule.
"Oh man," she said when she had swallowed. "Potions first. What a bummer way to start out the school year."
"I like potions," Cassie said defensively. Leela actually kind of did too, but it was so boring. They did the same thing day after day, always just putting things into a cauldron.
"Come on guys. We don't want to be late on the first day of class." She grabbed Cassie's arm and pulled her up. Jade got up and followed them out of the room. "Maybe the second, or the third day. But not the first." Jade laughed and rolled her eyes at Leela.
"You have strange ideas Leela Yadav," Jade said with a shake of her head.
"Yes," Leela sang. "But you love me anyway." Cassie and Jade laughed and the three of them walked down the stairs to the dungeon. Minutes later, they arrived at the potions classroom. They walked in and took seats at a table in the back.
Over the next few minutes people arrived one by one. When Jesse got there he sat down at their table, in the seat next to Leela. He fist-bumped her and Cassie rolled her eyes at them.
"Alright people! Students, come to attention." Professor Alteen was standing at the front of class and trying to call them together. Normally he would have had a horrible time with that, but it was the first day.
"Okay. Today we will be making the Draught of Living Death. Understood? Fine fine good good, now go." He clapped his hands twice and everyone set to work.
Leela sighed and opened her book. Back to randomly putting ingredients in a Cauldron. She was actually pretty good at Potions, she did follow the recipe. But that didn't mean she thought it was exciting. Suddenly Leela had an idea, a mischievous one, but what other kind of idea would Leela have?
"What are you thinking of?" Jade asked warily. Leela's friends were familiar with Leela's looks, and they knew when to be afraid.
"I'm thinking that we do the same thing every day in Potions. So, today I'm going to mix it up a little. Don't worry I'll follow the directions...backwards.
"Leela!" Cassie exclaimed. "You can't do that. You'll completely fail." Cassie sighed in aggravation at her friends expression of uncaring. "Besides, this is the Draught of Living Death, it's dangerous. You have to follow directions!"
Leela waved her hand dismissively. "Directions are overrated," she said. Leela opened her book to the right page and looked at the last direction. It said to stir. Leela shrugged, and followed the direction, even though there was nothing in her cauldron. Her stirring spoon scraped the bottom and made a rather annoying scratching sound.
Her friends had mixed reactions. Cassie looked irritated, but she rolled her eyes. Jade just looked amused, she was used to Leela doing crazy things. But Jesse was laughing.
"If you can't beat 'em join 'em," Jesse said with a shrug. "I'm with you Lee." He started stirring the empty bowl too, right before Leela elbowed him.
Leela and Jesse went through the entire recipe that way, in reverse order. When they were done their potions were a sickly pink color. A slight burnt smell was coming from it, and every so often it would bubble up and give off a sour milk smell.
"EW!" Leela had a hard time keeping a straight face when she saw Professor Alteen's expression. He wrinkled his nose and hurried passed their table. The four looked at eachother and the three girls started giggling. Jesse chuckled and exchanged an amused look with Leela.
"Come on," Jade said. "Let's go before you can cause any more damage." |
